In debating circles there is a saying that goes something like this. When you run out of arguments to support your position, start calling your opponent names. That is exactly what the liberal values blog did when it viciously slandered crooner legend Andy Williams, saying “Andy Williams has become senile, or perhaps just nuts, in his old age” in a post titled “RIP: Andy Williams’ Brain”.
What prompted such outrageous remarks? The heavy handed comments were in response to comments made by Williams about you guessed it, Barack Hussein Obama i.e. Barry Soetoro. The Telegraph.co.uk quotes Williams as saying:
“He thought Mr. Obama wanted to turn the US into a “socialist country”.
“Don’t like him at all,” he said, “I think he wants to create a socialist country. The people he associates with are very Left-wing. One is registered as a Communist.
“Obama is following Marxist theory. He’s taken over the banks and the car industry. He wants the country to fail.”
The Telegraph.co.uk added that “Politicians, media personalities and conservative activists have accused the US president of espousing socialist ideas.” Seems as though Andy isn’t the only one that is saying that Obama, oh excuse me, I mean Soetoro is a socialist. Anyway being a big fan if Williams, I flew out to Branson, MO last June to see him perform with Ann Margaret at his Moon River Theater; Great show by the way, I immediate fired off a comment on the “liberal values” blog (http://liberalvaluesblog.com/?p=10358), in defense of Williams.
Now, you would think that a blog, especially a political blog, would welcome comments even from someone that obviously disagrees with you, wouldn’t you? I mean it gives you a great opportunity to debate your position with someone that has an opposing view. Isn’t that why you have a blog, to put your opinion/beliefs out there and argue divergent views? Of course it is! I mean that’s the whole reason for having a blog, to engage your readers in stimulating discussion. Any blogger worth his salt wants readers to comment on their blogs. Comments are the bloggers bread and butter. It’s what brings the search engines like Google to your blog ranks it highly bringing in even more readers. So being the conscientious person that I am I left a rather good, even if I say so myself, comment on the “liberal values” blog regarding the Williams post. Now, imagine my surprise when those num-nuts over at “liberal values” didn’t post my comment!
Therefore my dear readers I am post my comment here, anticipating that those guys over at “liberal values would not post my comment I made a copy, for all of you to read and enjoy.
Whoa, there big fella! Let me see if I get this straight, Andy Williams is senile because he disagrees with Obama. Is that right?
It is apparent from your comments that you would not know what Marxism is if it fell on you. Anyone who has ever studied political philosophy, science or Economics can tell you that Obama is a Socialist/Marxist.
Now it is possible that your brain has turned to mush from reading Mein Kampf, and the Communist Manifesto. Since I don’t know you I can’t tell for sure but I’m going to give you the benefit of doubt and say that you are familiar with Marxism. In that case I will have to assume that your problem with Williams’ comments is that your values are so out of touch with reality and Natural law that you just can’t tell right from wrong any longer.
What a shame.
Now, I ask you, is there any nothing wrong with my comment? I don’t think so. I think it is very witty and makes it point in a light hearted way. This is the type of comment a political blogger dreams about. It is a springboard for what could have been one hell of a discussion.
Could it be that they are just too chicken to debate me? Perhaps, or maybe they are demonstrating one of the liberal “values” namely cowardice. Personally I’m leaning toward that!
