VIRGINIA – Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of the National Rifle Association, Wayne LaPierre in an interview on CNN accused CNN of faking a gun story to support their anti-gun position. CNN anchor Kyra Phillips, clearly on the defensive, said that CNN does not “fake” stories. However, CNN later admitted that the story misled viewers in comparing different types of weapons.
In a speech before the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), LaPierre plays the CNN clip and claims that CNN bureau chief, John Zarrella, deliberately faked the story.
Watch the clip.

Great Post! Its amazing how the Communist News Network (CNN) would think they could get away with lying to millions of people and think they wouldn’t get caught! Now they’ve disgraced and discreditted themselves for years to come!
David, CNN lied to get the Assault Weapon ban passed in Congress and when this incident happened the ban was about to expire. But thanks to LaPierre and other gun lovers the ban was allowed to expired.
The Assault Weapon Ban was a useless piece of legislation that had no beneficial impact. Banning semi-automatic weapons because they have certain cosmetic features similar to military rifles is ludicrous. The civilian model “assault rifles” only share one major feature with military assault rifles. They fire an intermediate/medium cartridge (i.e. 5.56mm or 7.62mm), but they lack the ability to fire multiple rounds with a single trigger pull.
I just joined the NRA an hour ago. Anyone know how to contact Mr. LaPierre?
