The ACLU is under investigation for spying on undercover American CIA agents for al-Qaida operatives suspected of murdering 3,000 men, women, and children on American soil.
ACLU along with the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, working with a list of 45 supposed CIA operatives collected from such sources as: “human rights groups,” European researchers, news organizations that track international CIA-chartered flights and monitoring hotel phone records, conducted the spying under the name of the “John Adams Project”.
When questioned, ACLU executive director Anthony Romero refused to comment. The spying was done on behalf of their clients, alleged al-Qaida terrorists. The ACLU considers blowing the cover of covert CIA employees “normal” research on behalf of their clients.
What has been the reaction of liberals on this? Silence; which is surprising considering the reaction liberals had to the Bush Administration when it was leaked to the late Robert Novak that Valerie Plames was a covert operative for CIA. As of this writing, I could find no reaction to this story online.
Liberals were outraged, see here and here, at the Bush’s administration for allegedly exposing Plame as a covert CIA officer.
This is more of the double standard you can come to expect from liberals which routinely hold Conservative and Republicans to ridiculously high standards but exclude themselves from those same standards.
